WHAT IS SOUND THERAPY?
Healing with the Power of Sound is one of the oldest and most natural forms of healing known to man. For many centuries, ancient cultures knew of these healing principles and used them effectively to keep the body, mind and spirit in harmony and free of disease.
For example, the ancient Aboriginals of Australia, Egyptians & Babylonians, are among the first known to use sound healing. Using tools such as a didgeridoo, low frequency drumming, and harmonically resonant tones, these cultures successfully facilitated the healing of broken bones, muscle tears, common illnesses, and countless other conditions.
Sound Therapy is the intentional use of sound, frequency and vibration to relax the body and create balance and alignment within the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual layers of the self. The sound may be applied by an instrument or by the human voice.
HOW DOES SOUND THERAPY WORK?
In general, this therapy is based on the theory that our body is an instrument of frequency and vibration. When we are under extreme stress & struggle and neglect our mental & emotional health, we become stuck in a highly reactive state which ultimately disrupts our vital life force energy and our vibration. This disruption causes our bodily systems to slow, our frequency to become discordant and our energy channels to become clogged up. This can affect the health of our mind, our cells, tissues, organs and our immune system.
When the life force energy is disrupted or altered, illness and dis-ease can result. It is believed that dis-ease begins in the subtle energy level of our being and later manifests physically. The word dis-ease means to be in a condition of un-ease or less than optimum. Dis-ease is considered stagnant energy stored in the body from stress, life events, trauma, negative thought forms and beliefs. It does not mean that there is something permanently wrong with you.
Our stressors, experiences and denial about our lives, puts us into a state of dis-ease, causing our body to vibrate at a lower frequency. When a person’s healthy resonant frequency is out of balance, the beneficial frequency needs directed into the affected areas of the body to restore health and repair the energy field where the cause of the dis-ease is actually located.
When you get a sound therapy session, healthy sound vibration will penetrate deep into the body. The sound spreads like waves. Similar to how waves are created from a stone being dropped in water. Sound waves grow into larger and larger circles that travel through our cells, blood, tissues, organs, bones, and all the way into our DNA.
The sound affects the nervous system which in turn begins to slow the brainwaves invoking a deep state of relaxation. At this point, the body can begin to release its stress and get relief from physical symptoms and activate its self-repair mechanisms. This deep state helps to restore optimum health, harmony and balance back into the mind, body, and spirit.
If a person is ill in any way, physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually, it is believed that they have an imbalance within. The sound seeks out where the imbalance is and helps to realign it.
Sound therapy can beneficially alter the brainwave patterns. This technique is known as brainwave entrainment. Multiple sessions can dramatically improve the quality of a persons life by inducing deep states of relaxation, higher states of consciousness, improved focus, deep meditative states, improved sleep, anxiety, depression and pain relief, and much more. Sound Therapy is considered to be the medicine of the future and that future is now!
IS SOUND THERAPY CONSIDERED MEDITATION?
Yes, but it is not meditation in the traditional sense. Instead of a meditative practice that requires you to sit up straight and have a point of focus, all you have to do during a sound therapy session is relax and listen. This is a very unique type of meditative practice where listening to the sounds played helps to naturally drop you into a deep meditative state through the process of brainwave entrainment.
This type of sound therapy meditation provides many benefits, some of which include:
Provides deep relaxation.
Provides stress and anxiety reduction.

What is the difference between a Private Session and the Public Group Session?
Our Private Sessions reserve the space so that you individually or your group of guests can enjoy a private experience.
Our Group Sessions/Events are open to the public and gives anyone the opportunity to register. Seats are first come first serve. Due to limited availability, pre-payment is required for all reservations.
GROUP SESSION GUIDELINES:
Our intention is to create a safe, respectful and sacred healing space for all. Many attend our sessions to do deep healing work. With this in mind, please review the following guidelines.
Please stay home if you or anyone in your household is exhibiting any of the following symptoms: coughing, shortness of breath, chills, shaking, muscle aches, a fever of 100.00+ degrees, headache, sore throat, loss of taste & smell, or having diarrhea. Please stay home for 2 weeks if you or anyone in your household has been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Our doors will be unlocked 30 minutes before the session and locked promptly at start time. No late arrivals will be admitted. Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early to give yourself enough time to use the restroom, to wash or sanitize your hands and settle in.
We do ask that everyone remove their shoes upon arrival because this is sacred space. Please make sure to bring a pair of socks with you if you want your feet covered and warm. At the entrance, if you see people taking off their shoes, please wait patiently until they can make their way further into the space. Be aware that congestion in common areas may occur, so masks are required upon arrival but once you are seated, you may take it off if you like. You must put your mask back on when in common areas and around other guests while exiting. If you come with a group, you will be seated with your group. If you attend by yourself, we will try to socially distance you from the next person.
If you are known to be a heavy snorer, try not to fall asleep and start snoring – it does happen and it’s awkward for everyone in the room. It’s helpful to bring someone with you so they can gently reach over and give a nudge if this happens. Please refrain from wearing heavy perfumes, colognes or other strong scents and from wearing clothes with strong smoke odors on them. It is also important to refrain from drinking or doing recreational drugs before your session. If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol you will be asked to leave without refund.
We also ask you to leave personal items at home or in your car. We provide a lounge with a pillow and blanket for each participant, so you don’t need to bring anything with you.
*Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their group session will be considered a “no-show” and will forfeit the amount paid for the session. Also, if you are late and are locked out, we also reserve the right to keep your payment.
*Group Sessions/Events with less than 3 people registered are subject to cancellation. This does not happen very often, yet if it does those who have registered will be notified the day of the event and will receive a full refund or credit towards another event.
PRIVATE SESSION GUIDELINES:
We want you to have a great experience while you are with us, but we can only do that if you arrive on time. We request that you arrive at least 10 minutes early so we can start promptly at your scheduled time. If you arrive late, your session will be adjusted as to not interrupt the scheduled appointments of other clients. Depending upon how late you arrive, there may not be enough time remaining to receive a full session. Regardless of the time left for your session, the full price of your service will apply, so please plan accordingly. After the session, we will kindly spend about 10 minutes with you to answer any remaining questions that you have.
In between clients, we must take steps to sanitize our therapy rooms and all surfaces in between each person due to COVID-19. We ask that you honor our time, just as we do yours. Please understand that we only have a limited amount of time available in between each client.
*Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their private session will be considered a “no-show” and will forfeit the full amount charged for the session.
And to help us maintain a safe and healthy environment, please stay home if you or anyone in your household is exhibiting any of the following symptoms: coughing, shortness of breath, chills, shaking, muscle aches, a fever of 100.00+ degrees, headache, sore throat, loss of taste & smell, or having diarrhea. Please stay home for 2 weeks if you or anyone in your household has been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Masks are required upon arrival but you may take it off during the session if you like.
CAN CHILDREN COME TO A GROUP SOUND THERAPY SESSION?
For some children, being quiet and sitting still for any length of time is difficult. Movement, fidgeting or talking will be disruptive to other guests. Young children are permitted in our private sessions when accompanied by an adult. For the group sessions, children must be 13 years of age or older in order to participate- unless otherwise approved.
CAN PREGNANT WOMEN ATTEND SOUND THERAPY SESSIONS?
Yes. We have had the pleasure of playing for many expectant mothers over the past 7 years. The session itself is very relaxing and the sound is not loud enough to be damaging in any way. Our clients report how amazing it is feeling the baby move during the session. You and your baby have a unique opportunity to enjoy the experience together. We recommend you trust your inner guidance or if you have any reservations, talk to your doctor.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY SESSION?
Take some time to think about what you want to work on before your session and prepare yourself for an intense physical, emotional and spiritual cleansing and open yourself to the highest healing possible. Drink plenty of water before the session. Avoid drugs and alcohol -the healing is more powerful if you are present and involved in the process. If you have to eat before your session, eat something light and healthy. It will be more comfortable for you if you are not digesting a large meal. Wear warm, comfortable clothing. Be positive and have an open mind.
SESSION AFTER CARE
Each person will respond to the sound therapy in individual ways. For most people, they will feel wonderful after a session, but for some, they may experience what we call a healing response. This process of detoxification can look like feeling fatigued, having sore muscles, feeling waves of emotion, headaches, runny nose, sore throat, upset stomach or having flu like symptoms. These things may last from a few hours to a few days.
Remember that detoxing is the process of moving out what is no longer a vibrational match to your new frequency. Know that this is a good thing. Detoxing is the body’s natural way of releasing unwanted toxins and shifting what needs to be shifted in order to heal and transform. If you do experience a detox, rest assured in a short amount of time you will feel better with a new sense of balance and harmony.
It is recommended that you drink plenty of water after a session to keep energy moving through your body. And pay close attention to your needs during this time, take a salt bath, go for a walk in nature and journal. Remember that there is a lot happening within after you receive a session. Nurture yourself physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME IN FOR A SESSION?
The benefits of our healing sessions are cumulative and regular sessions are highly recommend in order to receive the most benefit. If it is your first time receiving this type of work, 4 sessions about two weeks apart is highly recommended. After that, the suggested frequency of sessions will vary depending on your individual needs. A general recommendation is 1 – 2 sessions per month. If you are going through something challenging, whether mental, emotional or physical, a weekly session is suggested during that time.
While occasional sessions will help with immediate relief of whatever you are going through, the benefits of receiving regular healing sessions far outweigh the occasional one. Healing happens in layers and if you only keep clearing off the top layer, the bottom layers may never be addressed. Often, the rate at which you are looking for change will indicate how often a session is recommended.
DO WE ACCEPT INSURANCE?
No. Vibrational Energy Medicine is not currently covered by insurances. Our hope is that it will be one day soon. We do recommend that you check with your provider or your company about health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts to find out if you can be reimbursed for our services.
WHAT IS OUR CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY?
The Center for Sound Therapy has a no refund policy. When an appointment is made, it is considered a commitment.
For a private session, your scheduled appointment is reserved only for you. If you cancel at the last minute or do not show, the reserved space cannot be rescheduled. When you miss an appointment, you have prevented another client from receiving care. A 48 hour advance notice is required when cancelling a private session. This allows us to give someone else the opportunity to schedule. With a 48 hour notice, we will be happy to reschedule your session for a future date. All late and same day cancellations will result in the forfeiting of the session fee.
If you reserve a seat in one of our group sessions, please thoughtfully schedule your appointment on a night where you can commit. Due to limited seating, we request that you contact us 48 hours in advance to notify us that you need to cancel so we can try to fill the seat. In this case, we will be happy to reschedule your session for a future date. All late and same day cancellations will result in the forfeiting of the session fee.
