Imported from Nepal and picked for their clear, long, penetrating tones.
These handmade cymbals are crafted with reliefs of the mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum. This is one of the most well known mantras in Tibetan Buddhism, and is mantra for compassion and benevolence. Repeating this mantra accumulates merit and eases negative karma; meditating upon it is believed to purify the mind and body.
Tingshas have been used by Tibetan Buddhists for centuries to mark the beginning and end of meditation and as a way to clear space. When the two cymbals are struck together, the tingsha creates a beautiful clear ringing sound.
Attached with leather cord, you can chime by either slightly tapping them together for a soft sound or holding the leather cord at its center and swinging the chimes together for a louder sound. This contact creates a sound perfectly suited to calling awareness into the present moment, while clearing and focusing the mind before and after meditation.
A wonderful addition to any healing, spiritual or meditative practice, tingshas will help you to awaken your spirit and bring peacefulness into your mind and body.
